For me, teaching was a calling. I knew since being very young that I would teach school-aged children. I planned then to use long summer vacations to travel. Travel, I reasoned is an adult education. Indeed, Euripides, the celebrated ancient Greek playwright recorded: “Experience, travel- these are an education in themselves”.
Today I find myself in my most beloved city of Athens, recharging and renewing my love for my profession. The modern ancient city fosters wonder and, I confess, a wealth of opportunities for adult-centered play.
As a summer project on Child Centric, I’ll post a project I’ve developed for students relating to requirementsI’ve encountered in my previous schools for phonetic instruction .
Be well, friends. And have an educational summer!
